The staff at Watts Dental in Lithia thank the community for a successful opening year.

In the eight months since Dr. Jason Watts opened the dental office that shares his name in the FishHawk Health Park, not one customer has left less than a five star review, the number of staff has more than doubled and plans are underway for two additional locations. But despite his hard work, Watts gives the credit to the community for the business’ success.

“We are so thankful for the way the FishHawk community has welcomed us,” said Watts, a native of Canada who has been living in Florida since 1996. “People are giving us the opportunity to show them what we offer and our favorite part is that they keep coming back.”

A Florida State alumnus who graduated from Nova Southeastern University – College of Dental Medicine, Watts is active in many organized dentals groups including the American Dental Association and the Florida Dental Association. After spending time working at a corporate dental office, where he felt that patients were treated as little more than a number, he has made it his mission to change the way people feel when they are at the dentist.

“I am picking a fight to revolutionize the dental experience,” he said. “Why not let our customers use this time to escape from society in a positive way? It isn’t hard to treat them like they want to be treated.”

The state-of-the-art Lithia office feels more like a spa than a medical facility with touches including essential oils, infused water, fresh Cuban Coffee and personalized music selections in addition to advanced dental technology, from portable X-ray machines to digital scanners, to make visits as enjoyable and effective as possible.

Becoming part of the community and giving back to those in need is a major priority for Watts who has his own foundation, Tri Smiles, which was created to help disabled athletes live an active lifestyle. The office staff have also volunteered as a group frequently in the last few months including offering free screenings to children and speaking with seniors about oral health.

“I want to do whatever I can to give back to the community that is giving so much to me,” he said.
