Curves of Valrico Walking Announces Challenge Winner
During the month of March, the Curves in Valrico had a “Walking Challenge.”
Each participant wore a pedometer and was challenged to walk 10,000 steps each day, Monday-Friday, for four weeks. Tracking sheets were used to tally their daily steps.
One participant, Daphne Fields, has participated in the “Walking Challenge” for the past two years and has won the top prize each year. In 2008, she walked approximately 420,000 steps. In 2009, she walked an amazing 666,239 steps.
Since joining Curves in October of 2006, Fields said she has noticed some amazing changes in her overall health.
Her doctor has also noticed these changes because, before going to Curves, Fields had some problems with her hypertension, trying different medications from time to time to get it under control.
“My doctor was so pleased with the results of my last medical exam, that she asked me what I was doing differently,” Fields said. “My blood pressure readings are now usually in normal range, and because of this, she told me to cut down on the medication when my blood pressure goes below a certain point.”
“Thanks to all at Curves Valrico for making a big difference in my life,” Fields said.
