All artists, amateurs and professionals, young and old who live in Hillsborough County are invited to submit entries for the 2014 Hillsborough County Fair Fine Arts Show and Photography/Mixed Media Competition. The Hillsborough County Fair runs Thursday, October 23 to Sunday, October 26 and Thursday, October 30 to Sunday, November 2. The fair is held at 215 Sydney Washer Rd. in Dover (east of Brandon on S.R. 60).

Entries for the Fine Arts Show and Photography/Mixed Media Competition require pre-registration and must be postmarked by Wednesday, October 1. Entry Forms and all of the rules can be found at www.hillsborough countyfair.com. The signed entry form for the Fine Arts Show should be mailed the Eastern Hillsborough Art Guild, c/o MJ Wagoner, P.O. Box 3055, Plant City, FL 33563 or e-mail a scanned copy to mjwagoner5757@gmail.com.

The signed form for photography entries should be mailed to Brenda B. Anderson, 1524 S. Wiggins Rd., Plant City, FL 33566 or e-mailed to onemininut@gmail.com.

All fine arts entries must be hand delivered to the fairgrounds on Saturday, October 18 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. or on Monday, October 20 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. All photography entries must be hand delivered on Saturday, October 18 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. or on Monday, October 20 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. There is no entry fee.

Fine arts consist of acrylic, computer/graphics (pencil, charcoal and ink), mixed media, oil and watercolor. Exhibitors may enter three pieces not to exceed 32 inches. All artwork should have appropriately installed screws and wire for hanging.

Photography and mixed media photography can be black and white or color film or digital. Each exhibitor can enter two pieces in photography and only one in mixed media photography.  All entries must be framed and ready for hanging with screws and wire. No inappropriate subject matter will be accepted.

There will be winners for Best of Show, First, Second and Third Place. Skill levels are adults over age 18; secondary grades 9 to 12; middle school grades 6 to 8; and elementary school grades 1 to 5.
