Are you looking for a new place to enjoy a breakfast or lunch? LC’s Café, which recently opened in Brandon, will not disappoint you. The menu is Latin inspired, and offers many options of simple home cooked food; all delicious.

Loraine Aguayo opened the restaurant in January. “I originally was looking for a place to cater from. When I saw our current location was available, I fell in love with it. I actually could see the cafe up and running. My husband and I had already been operating a private monthly invite-only Supper Club for the last two years so we decided to move that into our new café,” she said.

You can enjoy either breakfast or lunch choices during the restaurant’s regular hours, which are Tuesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The blueberry muffins are stuffed full of the fruit and are so light and moist. There are other muffin choices as well and all are home-made by Clary Abreu, a graduate from Le Cordón Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Orlando. If you need protein to start the day, there are multiple egg choices to choose from.

The lunch fare includes the tasty Tampa Bowl with Spanish Rice and Black Beans topped with Classic Mojo Marinated Chicken or Pork. There are quite a few sandwich choices, one of the most popular being the Chicken Breast, Cranberry and Pecan Salad on Croissant. Find the OMG Roast Pork or Chicken on the menu, so named because the first person to try the sandwich said, ‘OMG this is the best’. The home-made Blackberry Sangria, which was created by Aquayo’s husband, Ellery, is delicious, fruity, but not too sweet. He also created the “Mad Flat White”, a rich creamy coffee made with a special blend of milk and cream that is served hot and poured from a beaker.

Soups and salads are also available as well as plenty of sweet favorites baked by Abreu.
Saturday mornings are special and feature a Mimosa Brunch. “You can enjoy free regular or decaf house coffee, specialty menu items such as our savory bruschetta served with our stuffed French toast bake or Belgium waffles with strawberry or blueberry compote and a cranberry, orange or mix of the two mimosas,” commented Aguayo.

The Supper Club event takes place once a month featuring authentic Tampa family recipes. There is a set menu where everything is all inclusive for one price. The menu changes each month. Visit www.lcscafe for more information on the dinners and to RSVP or to join the supper club invite list to receive the dates and menu information for upcoming events.

Aquayo will also cater private dinners in your home or venue for up to 14 people. “Our place or yours”, she said.

Beginning this summer, you can relax after a long week at Friday Happy Hour, which will take place from 5-8 p.m.

LC’s Café is located near Divine Designs Spa at 1602 Oakfield Dr. #103 in Brandon. Call 526-9395 or email lcsupperclub@gmail.com.
