If the summer heat is getting you down, you can “stay cool” by attending the Brandon League of Fine Arts First Indoor Summer Artfest on Saturday, August 6 from 10 a.m.
to 4 p.m. at Center Place located at 619 Vonderburg Dr. in Brandon. The event is co-sponsored by Center Place.

This one day event will feature artwork from local artists. There will also be face painting, so bring the whole family and enjoy a “cool” time viewing the beautiful
works of art produced by the area’s very talented artists. Doreen Donovan, chairman of the event says, “What a great way to see art and meet local artists such as watercolor artist, Roxanne
Tobaison, photographer, Marsha Nelson and artist of the month at Center Place, Minnette Webster.”

Proceeds from the event will benefit children’s art programs at Center Place. In addition, proceeds will be used to fund future scholarships given by the Brandon League of Fine Arts and to sponsor future art exhibits.

Art is something that should be shared. As Donovan said, “Some of the artists work in more than one medium. Some shows are limited to one medium per show. As such, this show gives them a venue to show their work. It is also a great opportunity for the community to purchase and own unique and one of a kind works of art.

The Brandon League of Fine Arts was founded over 50 years ago with the purpose of supporting and promoting the arts, aiding both professional and amateur artists, providing a forum for artists and to inspire artists through fellowship.
