This fall, FishHawk Fellowship Church will be offering two programs to help those who are going through divorce and also for those who are looking for grief support.

DivorceCare is a weekly seminar, beginning on Thursday, September 12 and running through Thursday, December 12 from 7-8:30 p.m.

DivorceCare is a non-denominational support group led by host churches. You don’t need to be a church member to attend, and you will not be solicited for church membership. There are thousands of DivorceCare support groups meeting weekly throughout the United States and Canada, and many groups meeting internationally as well. DivorceCare groups are designed so that you can begin attending on any week. They offer support for those going through either separation or divorce.

Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before.

FishHawk Fellowship’s Barbara Nixon said, “When I was going through my separation and divorce, it helped me to know that I was not alone, and the groups really gave me tools to help deal with all of the different issues I faced, issues like loneliness, anger and forgiveness.”

GriefShare is a Grief Recovery Support Group to help your journey from mourning to joy. If you have lost someone close to you, this support group is for you. This group will begin on Monday, September 9 from 7-9 p.m.

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences, the death of a loved one. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. One member recently said “it has gotten me through one of the hardest times of my life.”

GriefShare is a network of thousands of grief recovery support groups meeting around the world. Through a faith based setting our goal is to provide effective ministry to people in the community who are grieving the death of a loved one.  GriefShare consists of a 13 week video series featuring nationally recognized experts on grief recovery topics followed by leader facilitated discussion and sharing by the participants.  A few of these topics are “The Journey of Grief”, “The Effects of Grief”, “Your Family and Grief”, “Why?”, and “Stuck in Grief”.
