The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (FMoPA) has issued a call to photographers (professional and amateur) to photograph our community on Saturday, September 21 during the One Day Tampa Bay 2013. This is an annual event that FMoPA wants to use to create a dynamic and reflective documentation of our city and its neighborhoods. Photographs can be of any subject.

Photographs should be submitted to Jane Simon at jane@fmopa.org one week following Saturday, September 21. Please include the time the photograph was taken, the location and the subject. Photographs will be selected for inclusion in the full-color One Day Tampa Bay 2013 book. The photographs will be arranged in sequential order to reflect the day. One lucky photographer will have their photo selected as the cover of the book.

This project was launched in 2012 and was a great success. 80 photographers participated. The photographs selected for the 2013 book will be announced in November most likely during the launch party.

Participants are asked to register. A fee of $25 will be charged for non-members of FMoPA and $20 will be charged for members. Each participant can submit two photographs. Those who register will receive a One Day Tampa Bay 2013 Photographer Badge and receive badge benefits. Badges will go on sale on Wednesday, August 21. In addition to the opportunity to submit two photographs, participants will receive discounts at participating restaurants for the day of the event.

Jane Simon, Museum Director said, “Our community is an exciting, vibrant place to live and work. We hope people can experience that energy through this project either by taking photographs or purchasing the One Day Tampa Bay 2013 book.
