Pediatric Dental Center of Brandon is pleased to introduce its newest Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Jorge Torres. Dr. Torres brings over 17 years of experience with him to Pediatric Dental Center.

Dr. Torres also brings with him an indefinable sense of confidence and comfort. Dr. Torres clearly posses the characteristics necessary to put the smallest patients at ease. Dr. Torres said, “I treat my patients like family. There may be many ways to handle a situation, but I always ask myself – what would I do if this was my child? I then choose the best course of treatment and explain what I think should be done to the parents.”

Dr. Torres clearly enjoys treating children. “You have the opportunity to get to know your patients and watch them grow up. With children you have the opportunity to influence them in their lives, not just their dental health,” said Dr. Torres.

Dr. Torres suggests that parents start brushing their children’s teeth at six months of age. “This creates an early habit of letting them become comfortable with having their teeth cleaned two times a day,” said Dr. Torres. Children should visit the dentist beginning at age one. “With early education by the dentist and early prevention by the parents, the possibility of having a cavity-free, disease free mouth is excellent,” explained Dr. Torres. “Children should be seen two times a year. This helps to prevent or avert problems,” added Dr. Torres.

Dr. Torres relocated to Florida from Wisconsin. Kerry Torres, Practice Manager said, “This is a great community. It has been so welcoming.” Dr. Torres added, “It’s exciting to be in a practice with other physicians. You can collaborate, and the patients are the one who benefit.” Dr. Torres is equally happy to be with this practice because the staff has been together for many years and work very well together.

Dr. Torres is very involved in the community.  In addition to attending health fairs and offering education in schools and daycares, Dr.Torres is out in the community at many events including Center Place’s Halloween Horribles.
