The first ever Winthrop Charter School Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Winthrop Charter School located at 6204 Scholars Hill Lane in Riverview. The school is looking for local businesses, home sales, artists and craft vendors to take part in this great event.

Booth spots are being rented for just $30 per booth. All vendors must provide their own booth, cover and electricity. There will be a limit to two identical businesses so hurry and get your registration in now to volunteer@winthropcharter.org. Registrations are due by November 30.

Funds from the event will be used to surface a new play area and provide shade for the students. In addition, the funds will be used to purchase teacher supplies.

According to Sandra Weston, “The school decided to hold this event to raise funds, encourage family fun at a community event and to help round out a great weekend at Winthrop.”

This will indeed be a great weekend full of family activities. The festivities start on Thursday, December 5 with the 3rd Annual Small Arts Art Show at the Beaux Arts Gallery of Winthrop beginning at 6 p.m. Then on Friday, December 6 beginning at 7 p.m., bring the whole family to the Annual Winthrop Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony held in the courtyard between Brandon Lakes Animal Hospital and Cappy’s. Winthrop Town Centre always has a huge tree filled with lights and unique ornaments. Then, come back on Saturday for the Craft Fair.

The Craft Fair will feature a variety of vendors, and you are sure to find the perfect Christmas gift for that hard to buy for someone! So come out and support the community, young artists and a great local school.
