High School Seniors Receive College Scholarships

Two high school seniors living in the Buckhorn community received $500 each from the Buckhorn Homeowners Association to put toward college costs. One of the winners, Annika Ellenbogen of Strawberry Crest High school, will be attending Lehigh University in Pennsylvania and wants to study consumer psychology and marketing. She would like to one day work in the theatre business in New York City. The other winner, Mason Hubbard of Durant High School, will be attending Florida State University. She is going to major in either biochemistry or biological sciences. Ellenbogen and Hubbard were chosen out of the many applications received in the 652 home subdivision.

Celebrating Memorial Day

Memorial Day weekend is approaching, and in the Buckhorn neighborhood, the Homeowners Association will be placing American stick flags in every resident’s mailbox in honor of the holiday. In addition, there will also be flags placed at Buckhorn’s entrances to honor fallen soldiers. The HOA requests that residents throw away their old, worn flags when they receive their new ones. They also ask that residents keep their flags fresh for the 4th of July to celebrate the United State’s Independence.
