I Only Have Eyes For You- A Guide to Perfecting Your Relationship is a recently published book by therapist Dr. Reba Haley. The book is a relationship guide and helps single men and women understand what it takes to attract and find the right mate. According to the National Center for Health Statistics over 50 percent of first marriages will end in divorce, and 60 percent to second. In a recent survey Christian and Non-Christian divorce rates are similar. Both groups report similar marital problems, but spirituality appeared to strengthen and deepen a couple’s connection.

Research suggests marital infidelity, poor communication and finances are the causes cited for divorce. There are 1,300 new blended families formed every single day and 60 percent to 70 percent end in divorce, according to the United States Census.

When parents decide to divorce the entire family is faced with multiple stressors. Children of divorced families tend to have long-term adjustment difficulties when there is ongoing conflict and animosity between their parents.

“Studies indicate that daughters of divorced parents have a 60 percent higher divorce rate in marriages than children of non-divorced parents, and sons have a 35 percent higher divorce rate,” said psychotherapist Dr. Christina Steinorth.

Dr. Haley provides techniques and strategies to help couples communicate better, problem solve and resolve conflicts. Communication and open dialogue helps couples develop healthy relationship patterns. Couples learn how to build couples alliance and create new emotional love.

Stepparents and blended families discover methods to bonding with stepchildren and dealing with common challenges to achieve harmony. Remarried couples discover effective step parenting and positive parenting techniques. The spiritual principles are designed to strengthen the couple’s faith and deepen their connection. The book provides a number of relationship techniques to help couples build a better relationship and healthy child adjustment. The goal is to create life partners. The book is designed to create a singleness of heart and help relationships thrive and survive.
