Can you believe that school has already started? Some of you may be pretty excited about going back to school. One of the best things about going back to school is having new school supplies and making new friends.

Sometimes parents put our names or initials on our school supplies, like our lunchbox, so that if we lose it at school, the teachers will know whom it belongs to. It’s important for me to know what items belong to me and what items don’t belong to me.

When we head off to school it’s important for us to know that WE belong to God. In much the same way that we mark things that belong to us, God has marked us as his children. So when we make new friends at school, we should show them the kindness and love of God.

Even something as small as sitting with a new friend at lunch-time can show others that we belong to God. If we are followers of Jesus, we belong to God and are a part of his family. I hope you remember to put your name on all the new school supplies that belong to you. I hope you will also remember that you belong to God and He has marked you as his special child.

Bible Verse – Galatians 3:26 “For you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”
