FishHawk resident Amber Ferguson takes her paper sketches and transforms them into digital pieces of artwork. She recently graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) located in Savannah, Ga. At Savannah College of Art and Design, she studied Digital Illustration, 2D and 3D Design, Drawing, Color Theory and more. Ferguson earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation. She is currently working at Woodmont Charter School in Tampa as an art teacher. She teaches Kindergarten through fifth grade.

“Using my degree at a job where I can inspire the careers of young artists is something that I enjoy doing,” said Ferguson.

Not only is she an art teacher, but Ferguson is a freelance animator and digital illustrator. Some of her work includes Pet Portraits, Rainbow Bridge Photos, Fantasy Art, Sci-Fi and her favorite Minimerms. The prices vary depending on the detail of work. Once purchased, customers can expect to receive a high resolution .jpeg or .png file. The file can be printed using poster or photo paper, which is what is recommended. All she charges customers for is her work and time.

“My work is a little diverse and I like to branch out and try new ideas,” said Ferguson.

She has a website that displays projects she has completed. Individuals can go on there to get inspiration for a future purchase or just to see her overall work. If interested, individuals can reach out to Ferguson via email to start the process of a new illustration.

Disney, cartoons and animation is something that she never grew out of and loves. Once she gains more experience, her goal is to work for Disney Junior and become a character designer. Along with that, she is keeping her options open and is looking into other various companies for opportunities.

“When you try your hardest and do your best, everything usually works out,” said Ferguson. Visit http://bit.ly/1RTkvL1or send her an email at AmberReneeFerguson@gmail.com.
