For the sixth year, Elvis will be ‘in the building’ at Costco in Brandon on Sunday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Two time winner of the Live Oak Elvis contest, three time winner of The Elvis Extravaganza, along with winning best look-alike four times, and fan favorite three times, Billy ‘Elvis’ Lindsey has been performing as an Elvis impersonator for 20 years.

Lindsey grew up listening to rock and roll music. His step-dad was the one who introduced him to Elvis’ music. Lindsey said he was ‘fed Elvis’ as a child. When asked what role Elvis played in his life, Lindsey said, “Elvis became an integral part in what I was doing.”

His love for music started when he was a little boy. He received his first guitar in fourth grade and taught himself how to play. The guitar is not the only instrument Lindsey knows how to play. Drums, trumpet, tuba, and the French horn are a few of the 10 instruments that he can play.

Lindsey performs at bars, social clubs, and private parties and has even performed at weddings.

Lindey’s performance at Costo will help to help raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network.

According to Nancy Sanney, “He truly is a great guy and donates all his time to help us out.  Not only at Costco, but at all his events he performs at during the month of May he will be collecting.  We’d love to break our record.”

At the same time, John Hopkins Hospital will have its NICU Transporter Bus (Ambulance) available for all to see.  So come on out with the family and enjoy the day.

In addition, local small businesses help to support the efforts with banners in the store including Canine Cabana in Riverview, Dynamic Painting, Pearson Capital, FishHawk Bagels, Brandon Legal, Curry Law Group, Sun Run, Vincente Family Densistry, Olin Plumbing, Eco Water, South Shore Falls Softball Team, Cox Electric, Campus Landscaping and Discount Health Products.

Lindsey also performs every Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Alpha Pizza Pasta & Prime located at 1312 Apollo Beach Blvd. in Apollo Beach. For more information, call 645-4648.
