Edward J. Reyes of The Reyes Firm is ready to fight for accident victims.

April 23, 2020 is a day that Tampa-resident Mayte Sarquis will never forget. It was the day she and her husband were involved in a car accident, being rear-ended while sitting at a red light at the intersection of SR 60 and Miller Rd.

The seatbelt of her Mercedes vehicle locked quickly, and she immediately felt pain in her neck, arm and knee. While she and her husband waited for emergency services to arrive at the scene of the accident, she made another phone call to Personal Injury Attorney Edward J. Reyes.

“I knew he was a personal injury attorney, and contacting him was the best decision I made,” said Sarquis. “From the start, he and his staff handled every single thing for me.”

Sarquis’ injuries required two surgeries on her neck and right shoulder. While physically she’s still not at 100 percent, she is feeling better, and her case was settled to her absolute satisfaction.

“I would recommend The Reyes Firm to everybody,” she said.

Reyes said it’s not unusual for clients to contact him from the scene of an accident.
“It’s a stressful time and, in addition to offering peace of mind, it’s important to get the correct information at the accident scene,” said Reyes.

While victims attend to physical and emotional pain and the logistical details of a damaged vehicle, Reyes and his team handles the investigation, settlement negotiation and litigation of the accident.

Reyes, who owned a Tampa health care clinic that treated personal injury and accident victims for 13 years, saw firsthand the tactics insurance companies use to reduce the amount they have to pay collision victims. It was this experience that inspired him to become an attorney and fight for victims’ rights.

After graduating from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2017, he opened The Reyes Firm.

“I’ve handled so much personal injury and am comfortable helping victims navigate this very uncomfortable road,” he said.

Reyes and his staff also speak Spanish to assist individuals who speak English as a second language. “The details can be lost in translation, so it’s important to speak to an attorney who can understand all the pertinent details of the case,” he said.

Located at 4730 N. Habana Ave., Ste. 201 in Tampa, The Reyes Firm is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. but has a 24-hour answering service, so Reyes is there when you need him.

In addition to personal injury, The Reyes Firm also handles wrongful death, pedestrian accident and spinal cord injury cases.
