Steve Altier has written another great book in the “Gabby and Maddox Adventures” series called “Over the Falls with Gabby and Maddox.” You can meet the author on Saturday, December 2 at the new Barnes and Noble in Regency Square from 12 Noon-2 p.m.

Local resident and author Steve Altier has published a new book in his Gabby and Maddox Adventures series called Over the Falls with Gabby and Maddox. It is an exciting time for Altier, as he recently signed a 10-book, five-year deal with 4 Horsemen Publications.

Altier said of the new book, “Gabby and Maddox visit the historic Niagara Falls and make new friends traveling from Canada. They learn about the rich history of the area and the people who have tried to conquer the mighty falls. Seeking adventure themselves, the kids brave the Cave of Winds and explore the Hurricane Deck at the base of the American Falls. They take a ride on the Maid of the Mist boat tour to the bottom of the Horseshoe Falls. Of course, a trip to Niagara would not be complete without an exciting helicopter ride.”

Altier said, “A recent trip to Niagara Falls inspired this story. My daughter wanted to see this place, so we decided to vacation in the northeast. I would love to go back for a more extended stay.”

Of the new publisher, Altier said, “It has taken a lot of hard work to get here. Having a publisher wanting to help me publish my books is a dream come true. I have been waiting for this for the last 12 years.”

Altier explained how he came to work with 4 Horsemen Publications: “I love telling this story. Another author told them about me. They offered me a table at a show in Orlando. On the show’s second day, I was invited out for dinner by the COO and the senior editor. I heard their sales pitch and loved everything they offered. Obviously, I was set up, and I am so glad I was.”

For new writers, Altier offered the following advice, “The minute you put pen to paper, you are a writer. So, how do you get your work published? That is the trick, and it can be difficult. Beware, there are many vanity presses. They want you to pay them money to publish your work. So, do your homework to find the best way to get your work published.”

Altier will be at the new Barnes & Noble in Regency Square, located at 2428 W. Brandon Blvd. in Brandon, on Saturday, December 2 from 12 Noon until 2 p.m. You can also visit www.stevealtier.com for more information or to sign up for Altier’s newsletter.
