Roseanne Korfant is running in the Honorary Mayor’s Race for the Sun City Center Chamber of Commerce. She is hosting an exciting event which will benefit her charity of choice, The Good Samaritan Mission. Roxanne Tobaison, a nationally known watercolor artist, will be featured at the Meet The Artist Exhibit and Reception on Thursday, August 7 from 2-4 p.m. at JSA Medical Group Activity Center located at 787 Cortaro Dr. in Sun City Center.

This is an opportunity to meet a local artist and help a great organization. Tobaison, from Brandon, is well known for her Florida landscapes. She will showcase 10 original watercolor pieces which range in price from $100 to $600.

Tobaison said, “I chose these pieces because I believe local residents appreciate the beauty of Florida.”

She has been a serious working artist for 35 years. Tobaison used to work the arts festival circuit, and the Apollo Beach Manatee Arts Festival was one of the last festivals that she stopped attending.

“I had lots of repeat customers and visitors year after year. It was like going to visit family each year when I would participate. Many of my customers were collectors of my art. Several years after retiring from the shows, I was asked to judge the Apollo Beach Arts Festival, which was a great honor,” Tobaison said.

Korfant said, “After meeting artist Roxanne Tobaison, I realized she was a woman not only of great talent, but of deep compassion. I believe she recognized participating in the Honorary Mayor’s Race for the Sun City Chamber of Commerce as an unique opportunity to share her artwork for a dual purpose: to display her considerable talents to an art conscious community; and to help foster, in a very humanitarian way, the mission of the designated charity, The Good Samaritan Mission.”
