The 9th Annual Winthrop Arts Festival and Artisan Market will be held on Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Winthrop Common at Winthrop Town Centre located at the corner of Hadley Commons and Winthrop Commerce Ave. in Riverview (behind Boca and Ciccio’s).

“As we enter the ninth year of our festival, we are really inspired by the skill level and creativity of our participants,” said Katharine Sullivan-Dawes, Director of Everything at Winthrop Arts, Inc. “We have seen the quality go up every year and we are extremely proud of the artists and artisans we are showcasing this year,” added Sullivan-Dawes.

In addition to art, you will find delicious treats provided by some the fine restaurants located within Winthrop Town Centre. The restaurants include Boca, Ciccio Cali, EATS American Grill, Moe’s and Remi’s Minis. There will also be vendors offering kettle corn and shaved ice. There will be live entertainment on Saturday beginning at 12 p.m. by the group, Tropic.

The Winthrop Arts Festival and Artisan Market is a perfect opportunity for the community to see fine arts and handmade artisan goods. You can invest in art and meet the artist or artisan who created it.

The Winthrop Arts Festival and Artisan Market is a juried show. Awards for Best of Show, First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention are awarded. This year, there is over $3,000 available in prize money. Individuals and companies can also be involved in awarding artists by becoming a Friend of Winthrop Arts. This unique level of sponsorship is just $125. You get to support the arts in two ways- an individual artist gets a portion of the sponsorship and a portion goes to Winthrop Arts, Inc.

“The popular and anticipated Winthrop Arts Festival and Artisan Market is a great experience in which our community comes together each year in celebration and support of the arts,” said Kay Sullivan, president of the Winthrop Arts Board of Visionaries.

“As a new non-profit, we are continually expanding our programming and events. The Art Factory offers programs including an after school arts program, art for homeschool students, and art for seniors,” added Sullivan.
