FishHawk Ranch Presents “Concerts For A Cause” Starting June 11

Staff Report

Join friends, neighbors and Disco Inferno at Park Square on Friday, June 11, from 7-11 p.m. to kick off the Summer Concert Series presented by Newland Communities. In its fifth year, the Summer Concert series will take on a new twist, being for a cause. As the park turns into a concert venue every Friday night during the summer, the spirit of the event will take on new meaning- Feeding America Tampa Bay. Here’s how it will work:Bring a non-perishable food item (canned goods are best) to the Mosaic tent that will be located next to the Feeding America truck. Staff will load the items directly on to the truck to be taken to the local food bank. In exchange you will receive a raffle ticket for a prize to be given out that evening. In addition, you will notice food vendors in the park. By supporting these vendors, you will also be supporting Feeding America as 25 percent of the vendors’ proceeds will be donated each Friday night to the food bank. “The generosity of the people that live in FishHawk Ranch and the surrounding area never ceases to amaze me. With the crowds that we bring out on Friday nights, it just seemed like the right thing to do-  give the concerts a purpose. They’re still free, but now have more meaning,” says Dawn Turner, marketing manager, FishHawk Ranch, “and what great partners to work with. Mosaic already partners with Feeding America, and it just made sense for us, as a community, to get involved as well.”  “With the two partners, FishHawk Ranch completes the circle. Mosaic starts the food process and is the perfect liaison to Feeding America who distributes the food to those in need.  FishHawk Ranch becomes an integral part of that process through the natural generosity of the people that gather every Friday night in Park Square,” says Turner. “We’ll see you all there.” If you have questions about the effort, please call the FishHawk Ranch Information Center at 685-7500.For more information about Mosaic, visit For more information about Feeding America Tampa Bay, visit  For a concert schedule, visit
