It is summer and it is time to celebrate the end of the school year. Bring your family and friends to enjoy these upcoming events that will take place in Park Square in FishHawk. These events will be offered by the group Celebrate Park Square.

On Friday, June 10 from 5-10 p.m. (rain date Saturday, June 11), come on out to The Beginning of Summer Luau Bash. There will be games, activities and food. Pure Power Productions will DJ the event, which will keep everyone moving and grooving the night away. According to one of the organizers Sheila Roit, “We will have hula dance lessons, a hula-hoop contest (hoops provided); three-legged races; limbo contest; a bubble station (bring your own bubble wand); water balloon toss; coloring table, and a photo backdrop for your memories.”

MiS Vi’s CookUp will provide food for sale. Many residents will recognize her from the Sunday Market. A mixture of Caribbean spiced foods for sale (veggie platter, chicken, etc.)

Leis and glow sticks will be for sale along with a gift basket raffle. Proceeds from the sale and raffle will help fund the next few events.

The next event will be a Corn Hole Tournament and will take place on Saturday, June 25 (rain date Sunday, June 26). There will be room for 40 teams. The cost is $10 per team, cash only. 
The first round of competition will begin at 3 p.m. with the winner crowned at 8 p.m. Pizza will be available for sale and a craft table set up for the kids. Pure Power Productions will once again DJ the event. To register for the tournament, visit bit.ly/1TWZGen.

Start your holiday early at Park Square on the Fourth of July. Plan to have Breakfast in Park Square from 9 a.m.-12 Noon. Several food vendors will offer breakfast, and there will be patriotic activities. Visit the Facebook page Celebrate Park Square (Take Back Park Square) for more information.
