Center Place will host Bet A Buck Charity Auction For The Arts on Friday, May 5 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Center Place located at 619 Vonderburg Dr. in Brandon. This is a fun and inexpensive way to get great stuff and support the arts at the same time. Auction items have been donated by local businesses.

How does Bet A Buck work? Upon arrival, you rent a paddle. This is the device that gives you the opportunity to bid on fun and exciting items. When an item comes up, you put $1, $2 or $3 in the bucket. The amount you put in depends on the value of the auctioned item. Paddles are just $10 per person. Additional paddles cost just $5 per person.

Dawn Galia, Executive Director for Center Place said, “It is a unique and super fun event to raise dollars for the arts. If you want something unique and fun, join us for Bet A Buck.” Galia added, “We had a wonderful turnout last year and hope to have a great turnout this year as well. This year we will have a list of items that will be auctioned off that evening.”

At Center Place’s Bet A Buck, you can bid on all kinds of items including tickets to many area attractions including the Florida Aquarium. There will also be opportunities to bid on a two night stay at Siesta Key Bungalows, golf foursomes and even a 32 inch Samsung Smart TV.
In addition to bidding on great items such as these, attendees will enjoy a delicious dinner and open bar.

Last year, Center Place raised $5,000. This year, organizers hope to double this. All funds raised at Bet A Buck, help support the wonderful programming at Center Place. Galia explained, “Center Place is celebrating our 40th year in the Brandon community. We offer summer camps for children and art workshops for children and adults. We hire local artists as our instructors. We have a different artist exhibit in the Mook Gallery every month. In addition to all of this, we have 75 children’s theatre productions each year and bring in over 15,000 children to see live theatre.”

This is an event that is perfect for both women and men. There is limited seating, so pick up your tickets or make a reservation today.
