Teddy Bear Round-Up 2018

For the third year, Partners In Allergy And Asthma Care will participate in the Rough Riders’ Teddy Bear Round-Up.  Last year, over 300 bears were collected for this worthwhile cause.
Rough Riders distribute these bears to children, veterans, and seniors in hospitals or extended care facilities.  

Donate your new, unwrapped bear at either the main office in Erindale Plaza at 3658 Lithia Pinecrest Rd. in Valrico, or at 13105 Elk Mountain Dr. in Riverview. Bears will be collected from November 26 – December 14.

Tax Preparation Volunteers Sought

Local AARP Foundation coordinators are looking for volunteers to work in the annual Tax-Aide program. The program offers free tax preparation assistance to a wide range of taxpayers with a focus on clients over 50.

AARP volunteers receive free training and are IRS-certified each year. All volunteers are required to attend class and must pass a national tax test for certification. 

Tax training is done at the Bloomingdale Library during January. Tax help is offered completely free at the Seffner-Mango and Bloomingdale Libraries from  February until April 15.

Local Art Studio Brings New Experience To The Area

Paschall Blanc is a new art studio in the Brandon area which was created by Katherine Mandry. It brings unique works of local art and a one of a kind experience. Mandry has always envisioned a place that would bring local artists to the forefront and allow others to enjoy the fun and satisfaction of creating art.

Local professional artists work out of the studio. Many of these artists and more have amazing works for sale which you can see in the studio and in the online gallery.

Space is available to rent for local artists and groups for art shows, scholarship fundraisers, and other art related events. It also hosts events such as birthday parties, baby showers and other celebrations that feature art activities.

Fred Astaire Dance Studio professionals from all over the country will dazzle in a 60-person performance group. Couples will dance a choreographed routine in a tribute to Fred Astaire himself, and the 70 year legacy of the dance studios bearing his name.
