If you have a song in your heart and want to interact with others and learn from master songwriters, like Ken Van Cura, the Worship Pastor at First Baptist Church of Plant City, then go to one of Krazy Kup’s Christian Songwriter Workshops.

The award winning Krazy Kup, an authentic coffeehouse located in historic downtown Plant City, has begun hosting monthly Christian Songwriters Workshops. They are held on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 6:33 to 8:33 p.m. The workshops are free. While no registration is needed, please note that seating is limited.

The workshops are led by special guest hosts who have experience in songwriting and can include area worship leaders and music ministers.

Frank Trunzo, owner of Krazy Kup said, “The workshops are good for both beginners and advanced songwriters. If you have a song in your heart or lyrics you want to work on, this is a great way to network with other songwriters and lyricists.” The workshops are open forum style which encourages participation.

“We are trying to build a multi-level opportunity for area residents to be creative. It will allow people to get their ideas down on paper and to eventually sing,” said Trunzo.

The first workshop drew about 20 people. Trunzo is committed to this project and has workshops scheduled through February. “I feel very strong and am passionate about these workshops. I want to make this happen,” added Trunzo.

One of the hosts, Jenny Weaver, debuted a song at Krazy Kup. Weaver’s songs are climbing up the Christian music charts. “I heard her and was just so impressed with her. It has gone viral, and she is getting calls from all over the country. We are very blessed to have her be a park of the workshops,” said Trunzo.

Krazy Kup offers events throughout the month and has something going on nearly every night. They offer painting classes, jam sessions (both Christian and secular), movies and lip sync opportunities.

In celebration of five successful years in business, Krazy Kup is hosting a family friendly event on Saturday, October 20 from 10:33 a.m. to 10:33 p.m.

Krazy Kup is located at 101 E. J Arden Mays Blvd. (near McCall Park and the Robert Willaford Railroad Museum) in Plant City.
