NYNE’s (Not Your Normal Entertainment) next show is a hilarious musical, Young Frankenstein. This musical will be presented at Plant City Entertainment located at 101 N. Thomas St. in historic downtown Plant City.

The first show, set for Friday, October 12, includes a VIP Cocktail Hour starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this event, which includes seating to the show, are $50. If you want to see just the show that night, tickets are just $20, and the show begins at 9 p.m.

Additional shows will be held on Saturday, October 13 at 2 and 8 p.m. and on Sunday, October 14 at 2 p.m. Tickets for these shows are $20.
NYNE’s production of Young Frankenstein is based on the 1974 comedy horror film directed by Mel Brooks. The show is a parody of the classic horror films. The plot follows the escapades of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, a teaching physician who inherits his infamous grandfather’s estate in Transylvania.

According to Joe Scarbrough of NYNE, “The hilarious musical is just as funny as the original Mel Brooks movie, but the ending is not the same, so even if you have seen the movie, you need to come to the show.”

Tyler Hollis is the director for Young Frankenstein. Hollis said, “I am thrilled to be directing this fantastically funny show. I have been a lifelong Mel Brooks fan and being able to bring one of his works to life is a dream of mine.” Hollis added, “I have been able to bring together a fantastic cast and crew who I really believe are going to help do the show justice. I am really thankful to NYNE for giving me the opportunity.”

NYNE uses Plant City Entertainment’s space as one of its prime venues. They have plans to use other venues in the Brandon/Plant City area over the next year. Scarbrough said, “Plant City Entertainment is a wonderful facility. This will be our second show there, and we love the fact that they have fully functional theatre lighting, sound and dressing rooms. That is so hard to find.”

NYNE provides music lessons, live shows, concerts and music for weddings and special events. You can even contract with them to have Victorian Christmas Carolers at your next holiday soiree.
