Majik Touch Cleaners employee Shobhna Kardani works behind the scenes at the company’s processing facility to quickly clean and press customers’ garments.

Waterset resident Steven Passik is so satisfied with Majik Touch Cleaners, he is literally willing to go out of his way to put it on his route.

“I’m very particular about my dry cleaning and when the new cleaners got it wrong, I knew I needed to go back to driving my old route so I could switch back to Majik Touch,” said Plassik, who travels frequently for work and likes his shirts folded and bagged so he can pull his shirts out of his suitcase ready to wear without needing to iron them.

“I’ve lived in many large cities, including New York, Nashville and Philadelphia and every other cleaners I used got it right half the time,” said Passik, “but Majik Touch gets it right every time.”

Started in 1985 in North Tampa by Prativ and Jocelyn Patel, Majik Touch Cleaners is celebrating 33 years in business this month. With 13 locations throughout Hillsborough County, Majik Touch Cleaners has built its business on offering textile-friendly methods and procedures to ensure customers’ clothes look their best and last longer.

Its services include corporate shirt laundry, wedding gown preservation, leather/suede cleaning, expert in-house alterations, complimentary button replacement and laundering of comforters.

Customer service manager Sheri Turner said its stores also offer a Same Day Pickup Promise every weekday and at all locations except the Plant City and Apollo Beach locations on Saturday. If items are dropped off before 9 a.m. orders will be ready for pickup by 5 p.m. that same day.

“Our drivers make their first pickup at 9 a.m. and take everything to our main processing facility in Valrico where the ‘majik’ happens,” quips Turner, who said the facility employees go to great lengths to ensure every garment is cleaned correctly and efficiently.

“Our employees come in at 5 a.m. and by 11 a.m. things get really busy around here,” she said.

Every item is sorted, stains are inspected and pre-treated; clothing is washed or dry-cleaned, ironed, sorted again and loaded into the vans that will take the orders back to their original drop-off point.

Riverview resident and customer Richard Pryce said the ‘majik’ happens at the drop-off points. “The staff really know their customers,” he said. “By the time I pull up to the drive-thru bay they already have my order pulled and ready to hand to me.”

Locations are open Monday to Friday 7 a.m.–7 p.m. with varying hours on Saturday depending on location.
