One of the best things about the holidays is getting the family together to pick out the perfect Christmas tree. This tradition is loved by the Chaberek family and a main reason why they started the Chaberek Family Christmas Tree lot several years ago. This year, the Chabereks will have two lots. One will be located at Newsome High School on FishHawk Blvd. in Lithia. The other will be located at Living Savior Lutheran Church located on the corner of Brooker and Lithia Pinecrest Rd.
Ted and Darlene Chaberek, owners of Tents & Stuff, a rental company that has been in business in the Brandon area since 2002, not only love selling Christmas trees, but they also wanted to help give back to the community. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the trees will be donated to Newsome High School Athletic Booster Club and Bloomingdale High School Athletic Boosters. “We wanted to expand so that we could help more and become a part of the community that we love,” said Darlene.
Tents & Stuff started out in a 200 sq. ft. space in 2002. Today, it occupies over 2,000 sq. ft. of space. The Chabereks rent everything from tables and chairs to tents and dance floors for a variety of events.
Trees at the Chaberek Family Christmas Tree lot will range from four ft. to 12 ft. tall and are the best of West Jefferson, North Carolina’s Frasier Firs. Prices for the trees will range from $20 to $180. In addition to trees, you can find beautiful, fresh cut 22-inch wreaths. The wreaths cost just $25.
The Chaberek Family Christmas Tree lots will be up and running beginning the Friday after Thanksgiving. They will be open Monday through Friday from 3:30-8 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
In addition, the Chabereks will host a party on December 6 at 7 p.m. at the Newsome High School lot. Darlene said, “We want to thank the FishHawk community for their support.” The party will feature entertainment by DJ Dela Cruz, eggnog, cupcakes and cookies.
