The 4th Annual Winthrop Arts Festival will be held on Saturday, March 24 and Sunday, March 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Winthrop Town Center in Riverview. All artists who would like to participate are encouraged to submit an application for inclusion in this fine arts festival by February 15, 2012.

Applications can be obtained at www.WinthropArtsFestival.org. Organizers of the event hope to showcase the works of 100 artists in categories ranging from oil painting to ceramics to jewelry. The entry fee is $135.00.

Bryant Martinez, Winthrop Town Artist and Festival Organizer said, “This festival is growing each year. We are trying to make it a premiere fine arts show for the area. I encourage all fine artists to apply now.”

Martinez and his committee of dedicate artists and art lovers, such as Beaux Arts Gallery Director and artist, Debra Bryant, are working hard to make this the best show ever. Bryant, who was a participating artist in last year’s festival said, “I was impressed most last year with the uniqueness of each artist at the festival. There was such excitement in the variety of media and technique.”

The Winthrop Arts Festival is a juried art show. Over the years it has drawn artists from all over the region. In addition to fine arts, the festival also features live music from local entertainers and schools. There is also a children’s activity tent.

Local businesses and individuals who would like to participate in the festival can do so in several ways including by becoming a sponsor. There are many levels of sponsorship available, so anyone can help promote the arts. Proceeds from the festival are used to help fund the HCC Winthrop Arts Endowment for scholarships for students.
