Finding the right bra can be a challenge for any woman these days, but when you are suffering from cancer, more specifically, breast cancer, it can be a nightmare.  There is a new shop in Brandon, located at 106 W. Robertson St, that is eager to help take the burden off you or your loved ones.

A New You Pink Boutique was created by Carol Poole to help her sister, and other thriving cancer patients, find a place to take some of the awkwardness away.  “After a long drive to a similar store in Clearwater, my sister was exhausted and not feeling well.  We both asked why there was not a store closer to home,” stated Poole.

The store sells mastectomy bras, breast forms, shapers, pre/post surgical garments, breast cancer awareness items and wigs. “Anything to help a woman feel like ‘A New You, You Never Knew’,” mentioned Poole.

Wanting to be able to help other individuals undergoing the same treatments and stress of dealing with cancer, Poole has an ‘Angel Closet’ that houses barely used bras.  “We will also take in donations for barely used mastectomy or full-figured bras and also hair pieces” encouraged Poole.

The new boutique is looking to help give back to the community and those survivors or patients in any way possible.  Some of the ways they are already incorporating this idea since opening in November 2011 is helping raise funds for “Faces of Courage” that offers camps to cancer patients here locally.  Poole and her helpers are also planning to participate in several Relay for Life walks this year.

Many insurance companies have worked with the boutique to offer easy filing.  TriCare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Aetna, and soon MediCare will be the main insurance providers the company can file.  If you are currently not with an insurance company, it also accepts major credit cards.

Many local doctor’s office and clinics are helping to spread awareness about the new boutique to help cancer patients find what they need closer to home.

Poole and her family are blessed  and are surviving their current battle with cancer and want to help make that survival for you and your family easier as well. Hours are Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and by appointment at 661-PINK (7465).
