ArtCenterPlacelogoChildren can spend a summer filled with art at Center Place’s Discovery Zone Summer 2014 Art Workshops. Classes are offered Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. as well as some select evening classes. The fun starts in mid June and runs through August. Advance registration is a must, and classes fill up fast.

Lisa Rodriguez, Marketing Manager for Center Place said, “We have expanded our hours for Summer Camp workshops so that kids can enjoy the arts all day. They can bring a bag lunch with them to make it a full day of fun. “

Center Place has offered summer arts and workshops for several years, but this year it has added new and exciting classes. These new classes compliment the line-up of favorite art classes and workshops such as Discover America, Family Pottery, Creativity to the Max and Art Mural.

New classes include Girls with Confidence, Bricks for Kidz, Musical Theatre Workshop and Commercial Art.

Rodriguez said, “We have added some new workshops due to special requests from our community. One is the Musical Theater Workshop that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance for children 7 years old and up.”  Rodriguez added, “For the young girls we’ve added a Girls with Confidence class to help them develop positive self-esteem for a lifetime for girls in Kindergarten through fifth grade.”

The line-up for the summer is an exciting one, and there is certainly something for everyone. The classes will be taught and led by seasoned and experienced instructors including Greg Manley, Doreen Donovan, Jennie Sikorak-Muehl and more.

Center Place is located at 619 Vonderburg Dr. in Brandon. For more information and to register, visit www.centerplacebrandon.org or call 685-8888.
