Pastor Daniel Butson is the new teaching pastor at Fishhawk Fellowship Church (FFC).

“He’s going to be the lead pastor for our new Saturday night worship. We’ll have a service at 5 p.m. that is going to begin on Saturday, August 29,” Cheryl Huegel, executive assistant to the senior pastor, said.

The new service will be similar to the current Sunday services and will last about an hour and 15 minutes. Worshipers can expect to be led by a contemporary praise band. “Our Saturday night services are designed for everyone. Whether it’s work or other obligations, we recognize that there are people throughout our community and world that simply cannot attend a Sunday morning worship service. It’s our desire to simply offer more opportunities to come and find a passionate life in Christ,” Pastor Butson said. The Saturday night service will offer programs for children, up through fifth grade. Middle school and high school students are expected to attend the service with their parents. Based on expected numbers of participation, FFC is already anticipating the addition of a second Saturday evening service in a few months. That would allow for more youth programs.

“Saturday nights at Fishhawk is focused on helping people connect to Jesus every week. On Saturdays, you can expect a casual, contemporary, and authentic setting for you and your family to worship. We will offer an engaging and inspiring  preschool and children’s ministry during the worship gatherings at 5 p.m. It’s our desire that the whole family leaves Fishhawk Fellowship Church on Saturday night encouraged in their faith, challenged in their walk with Christ, and more equipped to advance the love of Christ in their homes, schools, neighborhoods, and places of work,” Pastor Butson said.

Pastor Butson earned a Master’s in Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary located in Pasadena, Calif.

According to his staff bio, Pastor Butson is married to Katie and has a daughter named Bellamy.
