Center Place Fine Arts will present its first ever Bold Vision, a unique fundraiser for the arts, this December. Center Place invites all local artists, 18 years and older, to donate a 10″x10″ or 12″x12″ painted canvas that incorporates the theme of “Bold Vision.”

Canvases will be accepted from Monday, November 2 through Friday, November 20.

The idea for this event has been in the works for a long time. Dawn Galia, executive director of Center Place, explained what they mean by Bold Vision. “We have many, many people who take art classes at Center Place. These include both children and adults. I believe that Center Place is a wonderful asset to the greater Brandon community. By helping with this event, they can show their support for the center and be creative. We would love to have all of our local artists participate,” said Galia.

Artists can be daring and dramatic and create a piece that resonates with members of the community who will want to buy the piece. The purchase will not only nurture their soul, but it will also help to support a local asset, Center Place.

The pieces, which will be originals by a local artist, will be sold for $25 each at the Thursday, December 17 artist reception.

“What a great Christmas gift. A unique piece of art from one of our fantastic artists,” said Galia.

The reception begins at 5:30 p.m. and lasts until 7. Each person will be able to buy their work of art and take it home with them that evening.

Artists who participate will be registered for a chance to win a 158 piece art kit in a portable wooden case by Art Essentials. The kit includes paints (acrylic, watercolor, oil, pastels), colored pencils, palettes, sketch book, canvas panel and more.

The artwork that is donated becomes the property of Center Place and will be used at other events.

There are some pieces that have already been donated. In fact, several of the donated pieces have already been sold. So be bold, be creative and be daring. Create something wonderful and donate it to Center Place for their first ever Bold Vision fundraiser.
