FishHawk resident Jamie Jacobs is the new co-host along with longtime co-host Cyndi Edwards, of the nationally syndicated show Daytime which airs on WFLA Channel 8 at 10 a.m. Monday-Friday.

“I have had the opportunity to travel all across America in my career and now I have found a place to hang my ‘Fedora’ with a home at WFLA,” said FishHawk resident Jamie Jacobs the new co-host of the nationally syndicated show Daytime, which airs weekdays at 10 a.m. on WFLA News Channel 8. “I am very excited to be in the community I am passionate about and where we have chosen to raise our family.”
Jacobs, who is known for being seen in his signature hat, brings years of experience to his new job. In addition to working as an actor, stand-up comedian and in narration, he has hosted American Home on HGTV and Designing Spaces on TLC.
Being a host on a daily show may look easy, but according to Jacobs, “It is a a bit crazy. You have people talking in your ear telling you which camera to turn to. You have to look and listen to your co-host all at the same time.”
Jacobs loves his job. “I love the fact that I can do a job where I can interact with the guests and the viewers,” Jacobs added.
It helps that Jacobs has a great co-host in Cyndi Edwards as well as a great format. Daytime is a show which is geared toward daily lifestyles and entertainment content. You can learn tips from top chefs, get fix-it-yourself tips and learn about celebrities and interesting people with interesting hobbies and professions. This format allows Daytime to run in any market from Florida to California and everywhere in between. Daytime currently runs in 106 markets on 114 stations nationally.
Jacobs lives in FishHawk Ranch with his wife and two children who attend Bevis Elementary School. “I love living in this area because the community is safe, especially since we came here from Los Angeles. I love the sense of community that exists in the greater Brandon area,” said Jacobs.
