Sidekicks Martial Arts has moved into a new location on FishHawk Blvd. next to Walgreens in the same plaza as Doral Dental.

Sidekicks Family Martial Arts Center has recently completed a move and renovation of its popular martial arts and character-building programs. The school is also home to the iLoveKickboxing power fitness program for adults. The newly renovated location on FishHawk Blvd., adjacent to Walgreen’s, is in the same plaza as Doral Dental and the recently announced Busiglio Dental offices.

Sidekicks offers martial arts classrooms offering instruction from ages three years through adult, an afterschool program and a reception area.

“We needed more space and a more visible space for our programs,” said Sidekicks owner, Manny Cabrera III, a Fourth Degree Black Belt. “This location gives us visibility and a larger location to offer even more programs.”

In addition to classes and after school programs, Sidekicks offers birthday parties, special training seminars including anti-bully and self-defense and also a full day summer camp program.

Cabrera is the chief instructor of Sidekicks Family Martial Arts Centers, which he has operated with his wife Jessica, since 2003. He has more than 25 years martial arts experience, is a certified instructor and has taught thousands of children and adults. In addition to the husband and wife team, Manny’s father, Master Manny Cabrera Jr., a 43 year veteran instructor and Seventh Degree Black Belt, lead the leadership instruction team at Sidekicks.

“Goal setting is a natural part of what makes our academy so unique and valuable to everyone at our school,” said Cabrera III. “Our students learn the right way to set their goals and then, using the discipline they develop here, they’re able to go after those goals and achieve them.”

Sidekick’s offers a strong curriculum and the Powerful Words Character Development system.

In addition to the Kids Martial Arts (TKD) and Traditional Taekwondo for Adults, Sidekicks now offers the program, with high-energy, calorie burn workouts with actual boxing gloves and weighted bags.
A new program that will be offered at the new location, is Krav Maga, a hand-to-hand combat system developed in Israel that involves striking techniques. It utilizes wrestling and grappling to defeat an opponent and is considered one of the premier combat sports taught today.
