Local RobZFitness trainer and body builder, Taylor Green, is known for his kind but firm approach for getting his clients to achieve their fitness goals. As a personal trainer at RobZFitness for seven-and-a-half years, Green is also a soon-to-be dad and has recently achieved one more life goal: to become an award-winning body-builder by achieving a competition trophy.  He completed that goal by bringing home a trophy from the Dexter Jackson Classic in Jacksonville.

This year’s competition was a very competitive one. It developed from a professional champion bodybuilder named Dexter Jackson three years ago and has been a national qualifier for body builders where the top five receive the invitation to nationals. However, due to the increased competitive nature, this year only the top three qualified for nationals.

Green, who achieved the fourth-place trophy this year, is still proud of his achievement and he trained for over eight months for this particular show. He started in January of this year. “I didn’t start cutting until early June,” he said, which is when he started the process to become as lean as possible for the competition.

The fourth-place finish is not the end for Green. He will be competing again next year. He is now focusing on the birth of his first daughter, Skylar, due October 13. The season ends near her birth date, therefore, he will continue attempting to make changes for next season. Green is looking forward to competing in two to four shows next year, one of them being the national show.

Green said, “I compete because I love the competitive nature. Since I am a former athlete, I miss competing. Through the physique class, I am able to engage in my natural competitive nature. In addition, I compete to be an example. I am 100 percent natural and drug-free. I want to show my peers that you can achieve a flawless physique and not have to take any sort of enhancement. Additionally, we do not have enough positive role models. I strive to become a role model for others.”

Outside of competition season, Green continues as a personal trainer and mentor at RobZFitness located at 3438 Lithia Pinecrest Rd. in the Stein Mart and Fresh Market anchored Shoppes at Lithia Plaza. For more information, visit robzfitness.com or call 571-3700.
