TGHfrontWith the planned opening of a brand new family care center slated for early next year, Tampa General Medical Group (TGMG), is expanding and extending its now well-established primary and pediatric care services to better serve residents in FishHawk and neighboring communities.

The new office located at 13425 FishHawk Blvd., formerly Flint Creek Outfitters, inside the River Springs Plaza, just east of the Boyette, Bell Shoals Rd. and FishHawk Blvd., intersection, will have close to a dozen medical staff, not counting the four primary and pediatric physicians.

By making use of 12 examination rooms and several doctors’ offices, the center will be open from Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

TGMG, a division of Tampa General Hospital, was formed in October 2010, by the group of physicians that were once part of the LifeLink Transplant Institute, and since have grown to include physicians specializing in cardiology, digestive disorders, endocrinology, hepatology (liver disease), internal medicine, nephrology (kidney disease), organ transplantation and surgery.

The group’s family practice centers are currently serving residents at nearly a dozen locations throughout the Tampa Bay area, including those located in Brandon, Riverview, Sun City Center and the new facility planned to open in FishHawk.

According Tampa General Hospital Vice President Janna Gardner who is overseeing the openings of the physicians’ offices, the decision to open a new office near FishHawk was the result of the growth in the community and the group’s desire to bring quality medical care to the neighborhood, coupled with the convenience of easy excess as well as parking.

“Our Family Care Centers are doing very well, and have been well-received, and we are confident that opening the new FishHawk office was the right thing to do at the right time,” Gardner said. “We want to be a good neighbor.”

As expected, Tampa General Medical Group Family Care Center primary care physicians provide a range of medical services and accept most health plans including Medicare and Medicaid.

“Our board-certified family practice and internal medicine physicians can meet the needs of your entire family – from babies to grandparents,” Gardner said.

Gardner said that the official opening of the FishHawk office is scheduled for late January 2015. For more information, visit www.tgmg.org.
