SportskidsIn its second year as a member of the Pop Warner Little Scholars program, the Valrico Rams Youth Football and Cheerleading Organization celebrates a decade of community service, competition and success.

The Rams proudly practice and host their games at 707 S. Miller Rd. in Valrico.

Midway through the 2014 fall season the Rams coaches, football players and cheerleaders count on a strong finish as they build on last year’s champions that included the Rams DIII Jr. Midget Foundation for Youth Development (FYD) football conference championship, as well as an impressive list of cheer success.

Cheer conference championships were won by the Rams Jr. Pee Wee, Pee Wee, Jr. Midget and Midget teams.

Last year’s cheerleading victories also include a Pee Wee Southeast Regional Championship and a Midget Southeast Regional Championship win.

Rams President Joel Rodriguez spoke highly of the organizations current status, direction and future as its teams enjoy a healthy competition in a 15-FYD- member conference, which includes a number of local teams such as the FishHawk Wolfpack and the SouthShore Longhorns.

Rodriguez again emphasized that while athletics are the main focus, the Rams drive is much more than just earning trophies.

“It’s all about the community,” he said. “Teaching our players life lessons, responsibility, sportsmanship, as well as respecting Sportssignone another are all part of the Valrico Rams’ mission.”

Rodriguez added that as a united front the Rams are serious about academics and are grateful for the support of the community. For more information about the Rams 2013-14 season, visit www.valricorams.org.
