Maverick Steiner and Faith Bell – two cancer survivors

By Sherry Tucker

Children are our hope for the future.  So when a child is diagnosed with cancer, it is imperative we all come together to provide love, encouragement and support to the entire family as they navigate the unimaginable journey with pediatric cancer.  That is the mission of the Giving Hope through Faith Foundation – to provide financial and spiritual support to families in the Tampa Bay area who are facing cancer.

“Over the last five years, we have assisted over 250 families and have a goal to reach 100 new families in 2012,” said Sherry Tucker, president, “But we will need a lot of assistance.”  In order to help meet this goal, the foundation is hosting the seventh annual Zach Tucker Golf Scramble.  The scramble will be held on Friday, May 11, with a 1 p.m. shotgun start at

River Hills Country Club, which is located at 3943 New River Hills Pkwy., in Valrico.

Many sponsorship opportunities are available for all levels of participation.  “We have received such amazing support from the Brandon community every year we have had this event.  We are hoping to see that once again.”
